Bowen
Technique
- Case
Studies Tennis Elbow - male aged 49. As a result of repetitive actions at
work, P had a very painful case of tennis elbow which had failed to
respond to other treatments including cortisone injection. After 5
treatments in all, P reported a 95% improvement which was being
maintained after 3 months. Painful Shoulder - male 81. A problem that had been present on and off since a
football injury over 50 years ago was now causing C difficulties with
raising his arm and pain when lying on his side at night. After 1
treatment there was a marked improvement with him sleeping through the
night for the first time in months. After a further 2 he was no longer
waking with the pain and both shoulders were almost problem-free during
the day. Sciatic
Pain
- - male aged 74. For
more than a year I had suffered steadily worsening, diffused pain in my
left leg from hip to knee, severest when stepping off after sitting for
an hour or two. After two Bowen treatments there was a marked
improvement both in mobility and pain level and subsequent sessions have
maintained and extended the period of relief.
Mr.
P. Neck
Problems
- female 48. C. suffered with neck pain and pins
and needles in her lower arm and hand. This was diagnosed by her G.P.as
a trapped nerve for which muscle relaxants were prescribed. These helped
as did aromatherapy massage but C. was still taking regular painkillers
and often waking at night with numbness in her arm. After the second
Bowen treatment there was a marked reduction in the pain and numbness
and after the third session both symptoms had gone, an improvement which
still held 10 months later. Hayfever
- female aged 56. P. has had
hayfever for about 9 years with symptoms from February to September each
year. She was taking a natural remedy daily to relieve symptoms - she
found this more effective than prescribed medication. During the course
of 3 sessions in July there was little change though her sciatica
improved. However, during the week after the last treatment P. forgot to
take her remedy and having no symptoms decided to continue without it.
She was delighted to find that the hayfever remained at bay and a
holiday in Corsica (full of the pollens that affect her) was trouble
free. |
Aromatherapy
- Case Studies Rheumatoid
arthritis Mr N. has suffered badly from
rheumatoid arthritis for 30 years. He began treatment with Claire and has
found that regular combined aromatherapy treatment and exercise sessions
has slowed down RA progression and enabled him to eliminate
anti-inflammatory prescriptions. In his opinion the selection and quality
of essential oils have been an important factor. He now enjoys a more
active life and leisure. Stress
and shoulder problems Mrs. C. has been visiting Claire regularly for several years. The initial treatment was for stress and to treat chronic neck and shoulder problems. The latter have improved and now only require occasional attention. However Mrs C. continues to have regular massage as she says "my mind and body never seem to feel right if I miss my appointment". |
